06spec411
hey so i had this big argument with my boss the other day. he said cat back exhaust def will increase horsepower like 30hp. And i say all it does is give it a good sound and better gas mileage, and a few horses maybe. i say its obviously headers and high flow catt. what do you guys say thanks JAY
jim1969
you're not getting 30hp from a CBE on our turbo.
Guest LGT-NY
^ yeah, maybe you'll free up like 8-10hp tops.

VTGT
Crank it might be like 15-20 chp. Most have seen gains of about 10 whp when tuned for it. But you also get more more mid range power, a little quicker spool, and yeah sound I bet a free flowing exhaust could also net you 1-2 mpg if you are not romping it all the time to hear the new sounds
fonts
I agree with all of the above comments. A catback alone will not get you 30 whp.
Opie
Exhaust doesn't add horsepower, it only releases horsepower trapped by the restrictive factory exhaust components. Depending on the vehicle 2-10 hp is average.
aaronlee0821
it wont do much at all just catback alone. there are also those really restrictive cats in the downpipe. unless you get rid of those first, a catback will barely do anything at all. if let's say you had a catless downpipe and a stock exhaust first, then your exhaust is the one thats being restrictive.. once you open up the exhaust, then you'll probably net a ton of power. but until then a catback is purely looks, sound, and barely any power.
