06spec411
i bought the full perrin exhaust system for my 06 gt and i was wondering if anyone knew what the deal was with the connection between the back of the mid-pipe and where it connects with the y-pipe whether it needs a donut gasket or do flanges just butt up to one another and get clamped down with out one???? greatly appreciated. thanks jay
tommypenguin
You should have flange gaskets between all the connections. There should be no place you have metal on metal. Coincidentally I might even have an extra set of two gaskets that go between the y pipe and mid pipe. Let me know if you need me to look... how many gaskets came with the exhaust? NutBucket
If it is a v-band then yes, clamp only, no gasket.
tommypenguin
I didn't know perrin made a v-band. My Perrin catback is flange to flange connections from the dp all the way to the axle back mufflers. i found the two gaskets I have left over from my exhaust. They appear to be the gaskets that go between the axle backs and y pipe because the hole diameter on the gaskets are 2.5". One of the gaskets is a little beat up, the other one is in mint condtion. If they can be of use to you I would mail them to you for 2$. Let me know if you need them.
