Buzzman
Are you positive about this? I always hear of only 04 Sti up's being compatible.
Moderators BarManBean Posted March 6, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2012 yes, he's positive. you just don't want some of the older wrx up pipes (02-05, maybe?) because they have cats in them, just like 05/06 LGTs. xt2005bonbon
I am going to do that same swap. Can I reuse my old gaskets (assuming they are in OK shape)?
Nrw
I am going to do that same swap. Can I reuse my old gaskets (assuming they are in OK shape)? for piece of mind, I'd order some new gaskets. Pre-turbo leaks are a buzz kill.
jbangoy
Just found an 07 STi UP on nasioc for $40 he listed it in November and it fell through the cracks I guess :-D
xt2005bonbon
On another note, we apparently break the law if we decide to change our catted uppipe to a catless even if no one can really tell. So how come newer legacies/imprezas are able to get away with their already installed OEM catless uppipes?
car_cursed
Because they have the air pump.
floater163
Will the stock heat shield fit when converting an 05 Legacy GT uppipe to a 2011 OEM WRX Hatch uppipe?
CDubbs
Removing a cat isn't what's illegal. It is tampering with the factory installed emissions equipment. You could easily pass Illinois emissions sniff test with that single cat removed because IIRC the 05 GT was a ULEV (but could fail the visual inspection). Last time I went it was OBD2 and visual inspection only. No, the name has nothing to do with bragging about 20 inch wheels...
