mikeyd
I have removed the butterflies from my stock TGVs during my rebuild project. I was and will be running Cobb stage 2 (soon to have a pro-tune), does there need to be some tuning specifically to take care of 'TGV deletes'? Also is having an uppipe without the EGT sensor dangerous in any way? What does the ECU actually do with EGT data? http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139000 Add one-touch operation (and more) to your stock sunroof
John M
Most of us run without the EGT. It's one less thing that could damage the turbo. Disable the CEL and you're fine. Same with TGV deletes -- just kill the CEL.
mikeyd
Well the EGT CEL must be deleted with the cobb map since I didn't have CELs before. I guess I was wondering if perhaps the ECU detected overly hot exhaust it would rich the mix up or something to prevent a dangerous condition. Naturally I have to wonder these things after my engine blew. As long as I don't have screwy idle or A/F mix problems with the TGV stuff I'm happy.
