soloz2
Posting this here as I believe this will be mostly beneficial to us NA folks. One of the things that bugs me the most is the lack of a leather steering wheel in my 06 2.5i SE. From what I understand I have a few options. I know that I could buy a new wheel from the dealer, but I'd rather not spend that much. Likewise that rules out many of the nicer DAMD wheels 1. Used LGT Momo leather wrapped wheel 2. Used STI/Spec B leather wrapped wheel 3. Wheel skins leather wrap 4. Wait for Redline Goods to develop a leather wrap for our cars. So what would be the best option? tito_b0y
Go used. I got lucky with mine for my '08 (we have different steering wheels). http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fs-central-fl-two-oem-2005-momo-steering-wheel-and-171047.html?t=171047&highlight=steering+wheel http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/fs-md-05-lgt-interior-pieces-konis-wheel-locks-front-166711.html?t=166711&highlight=steering+wheel 2006 SWP 3.0R 5EAT VDC BBQ 2008 OBP 2.5i 4EAT BBQ [RIP]

GEE-OTTO
Yeah ive missed out on like 4 wheels but check NASIOC for the WRX guys switching to "racing wheels" over their stock leather wheels
sulk
I got a used OEM momo from a 5EAT and it has the triptronic controls on the wheel. Plug and play and they work fine. The stock wheel didn't have that option for my trim level. My base vinyl wheel sucked, and it's much nicer with the leather wheel.
soloz2
That reminds me to make sure I get a wheel from a manual. Thanks! N.sane
I'd go with the LGT MOMO wheel (unless you want steering wheel controls). I see one for sale every now and then and they're very affordable. I got mine for $75 shipped. One of my favourite mods; feels great and looks great. http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n75/N_sane88/Project%20Layla/IMG_0343.jpg
BAC5.2
4. Wait for Redline Goods to develop a leather wrap for our cars. They have my wheel right now, doing the wrap + adding thickness to the rim. Granted, that's for an 08+. But it's promising for the 05-07 guys. soloz2
Nice. I was thinking about sending mine to redline if I find a spare for cheap enough. For anyone who has upgraded to the momo wheel. How does the thickness compare? jton
Nice. I was thinking about sending mine to redline if I find a spare for cheap enough. For anyone who has upgraded to the momo wheel. How does the thickness compare? i have the leather momo wheel pictured above except with the tiptronic controls for +/- and it feels thicker and way nicer than the stock wheel. soloz2
I'm keeping an eye out for a momo wheel. There are a couple here, but most of the ones I've found are either pretty beat up or crazy expensive. matt
They have my wheel right now, doing the wrap + adding thickness to the rim. Why would you want to make the wheel thicker? Extra padding is only going to rob you of feedback.
