olsignguy
We have a 2005 Legacy we purchased used in June of 2015. Previously we had a 1995 we bought new. I did all the repair work except the front oil seals replacement. The problem we have is just the opposite of the posts I have read people wanting to eliminate the daytime running lights. I might do that at some time. The problem we have is our headlights stay in that mode after dark. It is like driving with no lights at all. I have unplugged one and then both of the plugs from the control module. Nothing makes a difference other than the headlights didn't work with the black connecter unplugged. I understand how this is supposed to work. When there is light, a photocell activates a relay which sends less power to the lights making them dimmer. I have Haynes and Chilton manuals. Both show a relay in the wiring diagrams. I cannot find a relay designated as the daytime running light which could be the problem if stuck closed. Has any one else had this problem? Where is that relay located? Thanks for any help, olsignguy
TurtleWaffle
Is it manual or auto? I know in the manuals the DRLs will turn on whenever the handbrake is down, regardless of night/day. Flipping the headlight switch will then activate the headlights. What happens when you flip your headlight switch?
