rs6er
I have an exhaust leak between my stock down pipe and Borla cutback. Which gasket do I need, does brand or material matter, and will I need to replace the bolts? Are there springs there also? I live in a very rust prone place. I'd get under the car, but it's raining at the moment. I don't want to start the repair and find I need more than just the gasket.
Moderators BarManBean Posted April 4, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 4, 2014 Stock downpipe is 2.5" at the exit. The borla is also 2.5" at the downpipe connection, correct? If so, you'll want a fresh donut gasket. If you deal with rust issues, not the worst idea to replace the hardware there as well--spring bolts and nuts. Pretty sure I have a set of bolts and a donut gasket for you if you're interested. rs6er
Correct about the 2.5 for Borla. Is your gasket new?
rs6er
Where can I find the numbers for those parts?
Moderators BarManBean Posted April 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 8, 2014 Sorry, missed this. No, gaskets aren't new but I typically have a smattering of donut gaskets in good condition lying around. Spring bolts may be claimed for an install I'm doing this weekend, but the dealer should be able to set you up with a pair.
