Warranty Confirmation

I received this email from Frontier Subaru, a dealer in Canada who sells Cobb aftermarket parts also :

"Hi Phil,

Please find attached a price list for the parts applicable to your 2005

Legacy GT.

The way warranty works is that Subaru is providing warranty on your vehicle

in the condition that it rolled off the assembly line in. Thus, any

modifications on your vehicle could potentially have a conflict with

warranty. For example, if you were to put an AccessPort on your Legacy and

you ended up having an air conditioning problem, you would be covered, as

the AccessPort did not cause the air conditioning to fail. However, if you

were to have an engine component failure and it can be traced back to being

caused by the AccessPort, you would not be covered. The good news is that

in our time of working with Cobb, we have never had a problem with an

AccessPort."

So there you have it straight from the horse's mouth.

For the guys in Canada, they attached their price list for their Cobb parts.

That sounds fair and reasonable though...Most delears have the mod-anything-and- we-could-void-you mentality.

At least here they are being upfront and saying that if its a prob unrelated to the mods theyll service you.

I always hear people say this but have never heard it from the dealerships.. maybe its just a rumor that got started and everyone just keeps on spreading it.

I think most dealers are fair with mods and warrenty especially in this era.

Has anyone been honestly turned down for warrenty that feels they shouldnt be?

If so I bet its only a few and not as many as people think.
