07 GT - Trade in Value

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I was thinking to trade in my Legacy GT 07 Auto with 55,000 miles. How much should I expect from the dealer? I got a quote from auto trader which is $11k. KBB said $15k - $18k

I have 25mm front and rear sway bar in my car. does it affect the trade in value?

mods will not affect trade in value at a dealer. Most are actually detrimental, but I doubt they'd ding you for sway bars.

You can expect to get no more from the dealer in trade-in than what they'd have to pay for a similar car at auction. I just ran a query on Manheim.com (dealer login required), that year GT sedan. Average is about $11k. If they offer you less than that, walk.

If you aren't in a hurry and can wait I think $13k-$14k is reasonable for a private party if the interior and exterior of the car is in very good to excellent condition. If you have the original sway bars swap those back in and sell the aftermarket ones here, the dealer and likely a private party won't consider that as a boost in value. You might be able to work a better deal if you buy your new vehicle from the same place you traded it in at.

Good luck
