Alternative Material shift knobs/boots

What alt/exotic materials has anybody seen for used for shift knobs or boots?

I've seen Delrin for knobs. I've been thinking if some type of cloth covering might work....something easily removable/washable that offers some vibration damping and doesn't conduct heat.

The idea of a heavy denim boot keeps popping into my mind for some reason. Or tweed.

Yeah, I know - "just wear gloves", right?

So, like I said what other materials have YOU seen. Links are lovely, if you please.

There was a company (coachwerks I think?) that would wrap shift knobs in Alcantara.

WC Lathewerks makes awesome shift knobs out of metal or, my favorite, Copolymer. I have copolymer knobs on two of my cars, both black, and they don't get overly hot in the summer. They can do all sorts of custom cutting for the knob too, even custom jobs if you e-mail them.

Ah, and forgot to mention that they do Alcantara wraps on the knobs also.

I wonder how much we would get hit to get one done in our thread pitch.

I'd ask....but I don't trust myself not to accept the offer.
