IPT High Stall Torque Converter

Hi

Running a Legacy GT 5EAT, with Stage 3 mod.

Running a hybrid turbo that derives peak boost around 4k rpm.

Already running the IPT valve body and IPT transmission rebuilt kit.

I am also keen on the IPT torque converter.

They specified the high stall version, as asked me what is my stall point (what RPM before it locks).

I understand that it would make the car drive as if it has a clutch slipping (like CVT kind), if it is below the stall point. Imagine if I specified 4k rpm! Car would be slipping like crazy in normal driving. Not exactly very inviting thought

Should i specify a high stall point like 4k rpm or 3k rpm?

I am not exactly into drag race. So I hardly brake torque my car.

Cheers!

FWIW, I have the IPT HS TC and it drives just like stock. I'm uncertain of the exact stall RPM on my IPT TC, but even stock is 35-3600rpm on the LGT, high enough to break my rear diff and rear axel with the VF40.

Don't worry about how it will drive, there will be no "slipping clutch" behavior. But when you need to use it it will be there, built to take the abuse. In other words, you won't know you have the HS IPT TC .... until you need it.
