Discovered Group N LCA Bushing for Legacy

The front-front LCA bushing, is very small, not much chance for it to make a big difference. If you are the type that would worry you "missed out" on a bushing go ahead and do them. I am that type so that's what I did.

 

If you go the other way, at least use a SpecB/Impreza bushing, they are firmer than the Legacy one and just as cheap. Or PM me I have brand new ones kicking around that I pressed out of SpecB LCAs to press in the Group-Ns, I'll sell them to you cheap I have little need for them.

Bumping this one... Anybody have luck sourcing GroupN rear LCA bushings in the States? My Whitelines are worn and due for replacement.

 

Whitelines have a lifetime warranty. If you bought them from an authorized dealer you should have no problem getting them replaced for free.

Did you give Rallispec a call, that's where I got mine. From the time I made the original post to now, there is a slight bushing tear but no where near the magnitude of the original bushing. I would also recommend replacing the front most LCA bushing with one from an STi. This will stiffen up the entire LCA mount.

Bumping this one... Anybody have luck sourcing GroupN rear LCA bushings in the States? My Whitelines are worn and due for replacement.

Is it harder than it looks? I just copied the part # (RST-2027R) into Google and it brought me to their page, you can buy the part individually there. It's in the bottom-most box, second row. I need these and want the Group N.

That's them. Make sure you note where the cut outs are in the OEM bushing, the new bushings cut outs must align to the same spot.

 

While you have the lower control arm off the car, I'd replace the front most bushing with an STi part. The LGT bushing has two slots vertically for compliance, the STi bushing is solid and helps with steering response.

I gave them a call to see if they had them in stock and to ask if the price was individually or for 2. They had them in stock and standard shipping (cheapest option) has them at my door in 2 days (NJ to MA.) When they aren't in stock it takes 1-2 weeks from Japan. $65 is for one bushing.

 

My total was $138 for the rear set.

If one wanted to save a couple bucks, you could use the Impreza/WRX/STI/SpecB front bushing, it is solid as well (though probably softer rubber than GpN) and the cost is something like $10-15 vs the $65-70 each for the Group-N. The front bushing is so small it is not affecting compliance much, in fact that is the purpose of the design. The rear bushing is 95% of the handling improvement you are looking for.

For $45 you can get the Whiteline inner control arm bushing kit (both left and right sides).

If you're considering these, get them!! I didn't want poly bushings because honestly this isn't a poly kind of car. These are much firmer than the stock jello, but still compliant. There is only a very very very slight change in ride quality over continuous rough surfaces, but nothing a passenger can notice on a back to back run. The steering feel has tightened right up, gone is the major slack on center. I just didn't feel that poly would be the correct application for this bushing, and I'm glad I didn't go that route.

I'm interested in getting this Group N Frt and rear LCA bushings for a non GT Legacy.

I have the steel LCA and I also want to replace ball joint once the LCA is removed.

Is the ball joint for LGT spec B the same part as standard Legacy? I can only see from online catalogue it is the same price.

 

Is it possible to use LGT spec B rear suspension bushings on standard Legacy? I feel the rear suspension will also need fresh bushings If I'm investing on the front suspension. I guess for the rear suspension there are no equivalent Group N bushings?

Anybody try the Megan racing bushings, I searched for some reviews and got nothing. I wanted the hardened rubber sti ones but lack of part numbers made me find different ones, I would have gone with group n but 1-2 weeks before you get them according to rallispecs site and 60 bucks a piece. I got rears and fronts for 90, part #'s SC-0600 SC-0601. I get to put them in next week.

I've got the AVO offset rear bushings and Whiteline fronts, and I'm considering swapping them out (at least the rears) for the Group N. The added caster is nice, but Michigan roads aren't getting any better and the ride is pretty harsh. Starting to get a little tired of it.

On my car, new bushings made 0 difference for noise, vibration or harshness and an entire world of difference for steering precision and control.

 

Yup we install the AVO or WL ones on soccer mom's cars and they never complain about any increase in NVH...

Bumping an older thread. I have an 07 Legacy GT and my mechanic told me my lower control arm bushings are shot. Is there an OEM part and good aftermarket bushing that I can get to replace the worn out one? Or do I have to buy a whole new OEM control arm?
