WFO Posted February 2, 2013 Share Posted February 2, 2013 I replaced the timing belt and it wont start i lined up all marks but now it sounds like it out of time and fails to start what is the procedure to set the crank and cam sprockets before putting on the belt? (may be) pull the valve cover on that side, put a screw driver in the plug hole. rotate the crank by hand until the piston is at the highest point. verify no spring pressure on the valves for #1 That's TDC. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs.
