Canon20D
So I did this before. I know its do-able, but Im trying to figure this out again. (Had an 05, sold it 2 years ago, bought another one and Im back where I started 7 years ago ) I just installed the P-206UHB (2009 stock unit) in my 05... Its got an Aux in button. If I am able to retreive the Aux in from that car in the 'yard, is it possible to just plug it in? I didnt see any 'missing' connectors on the back of the 09, that the 05 harness didnt plug into. Therefore: Im wondering if the Aux in port/cubby wire plugs into somewhere that the head unit will be then connected to or do I still need to manually add wires to one of the harnesses? SVXdc
Possible, but in North American 2007-2009 models the factory aux harness ties into other wiring. It's not a single harness that connects end-to-end from the aux jack to the HU (as is the case in many Imprezas and Foresters). Using salvaged parts, you would need to cut and splice various pieces to make it work. See this: Legacy Gen IV HU Transplant
