ScrappyFTW
I have only had my 05 legacy for a year. I recently found out that I have a rod knock. I took it to two different people and they both said the same thing. They said that it would be any from 4-6 grand to get the car fixed. I really don't want to spend over 3k to get the car fixed. So I am more than likely going to get a new car. I have a lot of aftermarket parts on the legacy and they only have around 2k miles on them so if I get a new car I would like to put these parts on. What's cars could work with these parts? There is no way I am getting rid of the car though because they only want to give me $500 to trade it in when I can get that in the wheels and tires alone. wurkenman
If you can do the work yourself the repairs will be much cheaper. 08 and up wrx will have the same engine. I say fix it. If you woke up today, you have another chance to do it right.
chato
if you use a factory short block, gasket kit, and third party machine work on the head it will come out to around $3k. just do the pull, build and install yourself.
rob-2
How many miles? If more then 100K I'd ditch the car, take your parts with you and find something newer
ScrappyFTW
It has 120k miles on it so ill probably end up looking for a new car and just use th parts I have on the new one and sell the original parts off the new car.
