987687
Too many herrafrushed outbacks on here, let's see some more of the (ab)used ones! If it's not screaming for it's rear springs or going sideways in mud, you're not trying hard enough. Examples of how to abuse an outback: Use it to haul around motors, what you can't see is that there's an ej25 shortblock infront of that one. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/IMG_4715_zpsbd0ee171.jpg Rally it! http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/purpy/IMG_1257_zps63d9982f.jpg Haul your firewood! http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/purpy/IMG_4692_zpscdde6c0a.jpg Rolling toolbox, this is nothing. You should see how pissed it is when the compressor is in there, too...http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/purpy/IMG_4676_zpsa6d402dd.jpg Towing big things is legal, too. Though I haven't managed to take pics of those silly endeavors yet...

derp
I like where this thread is going. I want an outback for exactly these reasons. My LGT is more suited for the track. I could suck start a snow blower.

pleaidestar
All that looks like a bunch of fun, that is a lot of scenery too...I live in the desert so I can't do that to my car without demolishing everything. Bummer I can't enjoy my Subaru off-road where it was made to perform. Cool ass thread.
05 Outback 2.5i
These go back aways, but we were abusing the Outback for Landscaping supply delivery duty. Owning a truck would have been nice for these trips. But the first load was twelve 50 lb bags of mulch (600 lbs or so). I thought the car felt heavy on that load. But when my wife decided on the stacked stone garden wall the Outback cringed. One pallet of stone weighs 3600 lbs, plus or minus the nursery tells us. Two trips later it was at home (you do the math). The Outback did not like it, but it hauled it, and when we got home it hauled it over the curb and into the backyard. It looked alot happier after I unloaded it though... http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/attachments/general-discussions/12421d1189424411-oddest-load-your-baru-loaded1.jpg http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/attachments/general-discussions/12423d1189424532-oddest-load-your-baru-loaded4.jpghttp://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/attachments/general-discussions/12423d1189424532-oddest-load-your-baru-loaded4.jpg http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/attachments/general-discussions/12422d1189424487-oddest-load-your-baru-loaded3.jpg __________________ ~Scott '05 Outback 2.5i Wagon Willow Green Opal/ Moss Green Metallic '04 KYB's all around | SpecB LCA Bushings | Whiteline Rear Camber Bushings | LGT RSB | Hawk HPS Pads | Nokian WR G2 SUV's | '08 HU | Subaru Sub Save The Manuals! http://www.subaruoutback.org/forums/images/smilies/eclipsee_steering.gif
987687
Oh good god, that's awesome! haha. I bet your rear suspension was less than impressed. Having done similar things with firewood, I can only imagine it handled really weird in corners...

subysouth
Slightly OT - but I swapped out the cabin air filter on the OB today - I think you could say it was abused. http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/7342/okvw.jpg ss
987687
Uhhh.... Ok? So next weekend is Newengland Forest Rally. Big rally america event. I'm service crew for a team, so I have my outback all loaded up and ready to go. Did some finishing stuff to the car yesterday and we're pretty much ready to hit the dirt. Here's service crew outback. Generator, air compressor, welder, power tools, air tools, hand tools, space for someone else's tools and maybe a cooler. Didn't realize how much you could cram into a 3rd gen wagon. Also, my rear suspension is pissed. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/nefr2013/IMG_0422_zpscac44f16.jpg
987687
NEFR is over, went awesometastic. Here are some pics of the poor outback service vehicle. Rear suspension is pissed, heh. First day we ended up next to the back side of Ken Block's trailer. It made us feel... small. I was welding way into the dark and Ken Block rubber neckers were mad about welding sparks and grinding lol. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/nefr2013/IMG_0437_zps1c942a01.jpg Second day next to a Maine team, very nice guys with LDR. http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/nefr2013/IMG_0442_zpse20849ae.jpg

987687
That side window needs some attention also Yep, it's still broken. Car is sitting in the woods. You can't even see it under a snowbank It has rod knock and the trans is kinda missing 3rd gear. I'm in school and don't have time/money to mess with it at the moment, I'll put it back into commission this summer, though. I need a wagon to load with tools and abuse again. I currently have my 89 GL to beat the shit out of, that thing is more or less invincible. Uhaul? that's cute. Try being a redneck and using a boat trailer Moving my sister a few hundred miles into college: http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z314/987687/89%20GL/IMG_3972.jpg In the last 5 years or so I've had that thing. I've probably broken/replaced/fixed every part on the entire car at least twice. It spends a lot of time sideways, airborn, and offroad. I love that thing
