Shifter bezel gauge pod.

Recommended Posts

So i've been trying to find a different type of gauge pod for our vehicles, without much success. I decided to try out an idea and this is what me and my buddy came up with.

All we used was a dremel, pvc pipe, high quality glue, fiber-glassing bondo, sandpaper, and paint. I purchased the bezel from a member here.

Let me know what you think.

Forgot to add primered pic.

Thank you. Its not fully finished, i hope to buy a double din jdm dash kit and vinyl or paint match them together but even then ill probably not be done. I kinda wanted to make a three gauge, but for the first go around this is sufficient.

Very nice! Only problem I am seeing with the gauges here is that when the car is in gears 1 and 3 will you be able to still see them? I love the idea though!

Not too sure yet seems that it could blind a bit but i do have them canted towards the driver side a fair degree and also upwards as well. There may be a bit of intrusion/ blocking but i plan to use gauges that match my current ones, but digital. And the will be the less "looked at" gauges like boost and fuel pressure, is what im shooting for having my wideband and egt up in my cabin pod. Or something along those lines. Ill update this as it goes along the paints a little off and hope to source a jdm double din and vinyling them together for a good match. Unless someone knows the exact interior color?

I think it looks great. I would definitely love to see photos with the gauges put in and it painted/wrapped to whatever your final destination was for it. For all of the 5EAT, there would be absolutely no issues in gauge view and most likely with a short shifter, there won't be any for 5MT/6MT either.

Excellent work. :)

Ya i have the cubby pod which will have the wideband and boost most likely then probably egt and oil pressure in the center bezel. Just the less likely to be looked at as i dont really track it at the moment. Im still waiting for funds to buy all matching gauges and will update when its finished. And thanks jmp, wasnt all that difficult just patience and time. I have it vinyl wrapped now just waiting for funds
