5th Gen GT Finds

Recommended Posts

bluebook and NADA values for low production and/or low mileage cars never seem to reflect what I actually see people buying them for. I'd put a pretty hefty wager down that it would sell for $23k+, given there isn't anything wrong with it. I've see many 5th Gen GT's with 70,000+ miles sell for near $19k in some cases

Sometimes NADA is just outright crazy, too- their retail price on my '06 N/A Baja with 173k miles was a hair under $10,600.

edit: less talk about flipping, more talk about enabling dgoodhue!

I am trying to buy the car for myself not make a profit. You guys are killing me with the flipping scheme.

LOL well I'm just a squirrel trying to get a nut! But really, after reading your thread about whether or not to buy a GT, I think this is a perfect opportunity for you to pick one up for an insane deal. If I hadn't already just bought mine, I'd be making arrangements to fly out to Maryland right now.

I understand, it's free country. Dealers usually are not immune to book values, so I am expecting to find an accident history or a car with dings and dents. They are closed today, but I reached out to them and find out more info tomorrow. They are at least pretty convenient to get to from a flight from Boston.

If they, for some reason, are unable or unwilling to provide you with a history report, I think I have an extra carfax that I can run. Obviously, I'd prefer to keep it for myself, but time will be of the essence with this car, so I would probably run one for you if you'd like.

Thank-you for the offer, I likely will not need it. I already contacted someone who works at dealership who usually gets me a free carfax. I also noticed on the dealers website the rest of their used car have a free carfax link, the listing is new so the probably haven't had a change to add it along with the pictures.

You could buy Logan's...Back with cream limited interior. Just under 80k and he's asking 16g

The beige interior is a deal breaker for me. They only reason I am moving on this one is that it's ruby red pearl (favorite color) and ultra low mileage at what seems like a too good to be true price.

This has to be the LGT deal of the century, providing everything checks out. 24k miles for $16,000

Someone put a deposit on it Saturday. The sales person comment to me was that car sold real fast. I did find out it was a one owner, no accident car.

It looks like a dealer bought this car. I had run carfax on it, so I had the VIN number from the Annapolis Subaru listing and the VIN's match...

2010 LGT Limited 91k miles, $11000.

Carfax includes:

23K: Accident reported, With another vehicle, Vehicle damaged in multiple places.

53K: Flywheel/flexplate replaced, Transmission removed to complete repair.

2/20/17: Accident reported, Vehicle involved in rear-end collision, Airbag did not deploy.

Also from talking to the owner, the head had to be replace at some point. The last accident was just a bumper. Has a new windshield.

What do you think?

Why did the AC need to be "recharged," a healthy system effectively does not lose freon. That would be a red flag in AZ, but maybe in Vermont it wouldn't be.

The concern I would have about previous accidents would be unseen structural damage. A close inspection in the front and back (get under the car with a flashlight!) could clear that up.

That's all I can think of. Can't tell too much from the ad.

Being a lifetime Vermont car I'd check the trunk lid for rust around the drain holes as well as rust on the turbo coolant lines. On my WRX I had to have the AC recharged once in eleven years when an O ring failed, easy fix but as Sarang said there is usally a reason it would need to be recharged.

Anyone recall who's this was? I know those wheels were for sale on here for quite some time

User named "screech" was selling those wheels, I remember looking at them. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/long-island-five-ad-19-x8-400-243187.html

Not sure if this is his car though, his profile doesn't show having a 5th gen unless he never updated it.
