Idaho GT Posted June 30, 2013 Share Posted June 30, 2013 I have an i-Bolt for my Samsung SIII. The holder has a cord that comes out and splits to a 3.5mm male end and a USB for power. Currently, I use the cigarette lighter adapter to power the USB and charge the phone through the i-Bolt holder. The cord is very long and could easily be put behind the dash from the side post. How do I hard wire this to power? Is there a kit or something that will give me a USB port? I only want power, blue tooth is working fine for everything else. Thanks. Neltech Posted July 2, 2013 Share Posted July 2, 2013 In the industry we make is what's called a "dog turd" by soldering wires onto the contacts of a car charger (usually for a GPS or sat radio tuner) and hardwire those in directly and then tape the piss out of it, making it look like a big piece of shit. you "can" use a Aamps Cigsock but even over time i've seen them fail even when taped shut.
