LegacyWGTW05 Posted June 2, 2012 Share Posted June 2, 2012 I recently installed a down pipe, up pipe & exhaust mufflers on my car. I did the COBB AP flash to stage 2 +SF intake. The CEL light is on and the Cruise light blinks. I read on another thread to disconnect the battery which I already did after everything. I even hooked up the reader to the ECU and it said a sensor is not working correctly. Is it just 100 miles? Can anybody confirm this? Otherwise after 100 miles I will have to go find help. The other question is; Does anybody know of a heat shield to install on to an aftermarket down pipe? Or do you just have to modify some brackets out of metal for it to work? Any information would help. Thank you. First, your AP has a code reader. This should tell you which sensor is broken. The next step is to make sure it is reconnected correctly. Max Capacity Posted June 2, 2012 Share Posted June 2, 2012 It could be the missing egt probe but I thought the stage 2 flash took care of that. you may need to go to Radio Shack and get a 2.2k ohm resistor. they are 5 for $1.25. Stick one in the connector on the fender well. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Did you remember to plug it in before attempting to restart the car? I had the clip the top half some to fit it around the bellmouth on the DP. The lower half lost some important mounting points and would have flapped around so much I left it off. But I have had the heat shield off a number of times and had to cut it for the vf52, but I haven't noticed any other cutting done to it. I also haven't looked that hard. I'll have it off and the near future to put the gold heat shield tape in it. I'll take a closer look then. I do only use two bolts to hold it on, because there is a piece missing or rusted off. You need the TGV position sensor (the thing that looks like a throttle position sensor). Someone on here who deleted their TGVs would probably have it for sale.
