Blaaaaake
I had a couple of comments and questions in regards to how I did my Escort Passport IQ Hardwire. I wish I would have taken pictures during the fabrication but didn't, so I went back and tried to take pictures of the aftermath. If you all have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/04/06/byge4y9y.jpg

jasejase
So when you take the escort piece apart, the manufacturer labeled plate comes off?
Blaaaaake
Yeah, when I took it apart, I did half the sticker at the time. Peeled slowly, and didn't have a problem. You could always heat it up a little with a heat gun or hairdryer to help.
jasejase
Does the Oem blank pop out or did u have to cut it out?
BigTDogg MA
Pops out from the inside, release two tabs top and bottom.
jasejase
Thank you sir. I figured that. Just assessing my time commitment !! Shouldn't take more than 30 min.
jasejase
Did this today. Dremel ftw!! It was a tight fit. Had to slightly mod the Oem housing on the inside as well. Lost the damn sticker bezel though!!!!
Blaaaaake
Did this today. Dremel ftw!! It was a tight fit. Had to slightly mod the Oem housing on the inside as well. Lost the damn sticker bezel though!!!! Lol. I tried to show how much I cut out of the back of the headlight. A little hard to show without a before picture. Do you just trim the back or the front of it also? You lost the passport sticker?
jasejase
i obviously trimmed the passport housing... and then i had to trim the back of the oem housing on the car... yep. Lost the sticker!! put it on my ebrake... and then it was gone. Im guessing it got it stuck to me, and then i went to do something in my yard... and lost it. ()*$)(*@#$ going to try to call passport to see if they sell that piece. guessing not though. it will drive me crazy enough that i will buy another one, just to caninablize it, to get the sticker. jasejase
just noticed your pic of the oem housing... thats similiar to what i took out of mine as well. oh, and my passport piece is a bit different internally.. The circuit board sits much lower on the green LED side of things. it juts out past the trimmed case. which is why i had to auger out the internals of the oem piece.
