Not sure if many other people on here use this site, but it's a great compact site that helps you track your mileage. You can enter info via online, mobile, and sms. Seems there is always a lot of talk about people and how well they do on mileage, thought maybe if we got everyone to post their badges from the site in a single thread it would be good for everyone to get an idea of "normal" mpg.

Please post the badge first (can be found on fuelly, by viewing your vehicle's profile, then clicking link on bottom left of page. Be sure to copy the code for full size badge for forums, that way it will auto-update and provide us with a link to your Fuelly profile) then any information that may cause your numbers to be non-average (i.e. stage 1+) and your normal driving habits. If you have no data, go ahead and post your badge. They are hyperlinks and update as you add info into Fuelly.

As you add your badge I will try to come back and copy it to this first thread so you can get an "at a glance" view to compare. Also please denote in your Fuely Profile Nickname if you have a turbo or not (i.e. GT,XT), as the Fuelly admins don't think it is necessary give an option for LGT. Shoot them a message if you don't mind either, maybe, eventually they'll cave and add the GT as an option.

part of why I started this thread. I just started a new job 2 months ago, and I have been getting 25+ since my longer commute and steady cruise. I do notice worse mileage (from in dash instant display) when driving at 55mph. Speed Limit is 60 most of the way, but I'm gonna log mileage for a couple weeks at 65, then try 60 and 70 to see what a difference it makes.

Also you have a heavier car, and I believe larger/heavier tires, so that's gonna hurt a little.

Cool, I didn't know someone did this for cars. A buddy of mine drives a semi-truck and did this for his truck.. of course though his numbers are a lot lower (around 7).

I'd start doing this but I only drive my LGT that often.. probably only 5000 miles a year is what I'm guessing

^ I beleive the badge is a hyperlink, so it should update as you enter info. Kinda why I started this thread.... I can check back and see how everyone's mileage is trending during summer/winter. My one negative thing about the Fuelly website is it's lack of customization... but from reading the blog, the admin seems to think it's best to keep things simple....

I'm trying to get them to add the Legacy GT as a model.... we'll see

here is their reply

"We try to stick to model names without trim levels. 'GT' and 'Limited' feel more like trim level designations to us. We know that different trim levels have features that affect mileage, but we also want to keep our list of vehicles somewaht manageable"

Yet the have a listing for GL & GL-10 as well as a listing for Legacy Outback and Outback, and an Impreza and WRX listing......

If anyone else cares enough, send em a note politely asking to add Legacy GT as a Model....

LOL that "trip" was 32 miles all highway after my car had been warmed up already and I only got like .9 gallons. I was driving back from somewhere and needed gas along the way so I stopped in one place, filled up, then remembered that the gas prices were sooo much higher back home so I stopped again in gainesville where the gas was still like $0.40 cheaper per gallon and filled up again.

I have a manual and it was mostly downhill from the first gas station to the second one.

From Rockville to 10 minutes north of Towson every day and back. Some days, it's Rockville to Towson to Catonsville and back.

I live right by one of the on-ramps, so we'll see. If I take the ICC to Rte29, it'll spit me out further south on 29 than I would be if I took surface streets. But almost half of my commute is just getting to 29, so that might help.

When I go to Catonsville (and not Hunt Valley), I could take the ICC to 95, but it's the same deal. The ICC would spit me out south of where I'd enter 95 if I took Rte32. But, again, half of my commute that was is on Rte108 and Rte32. So who knows. If it takes the same time, then I won't bother spending money to get there. If it's shorter by a significant amount, then I might consider the cost.

What I really hope, is that the ICC reduces surface-road traffic. But this is all off-topic.

When I experimented with going 55-60, I was getting in the mid 24mpg range.

I've found that driving at 65 I am getting around 27-28mpg depending on the terrain. I also just sit it in cruise control for that since I drive to and from Norfolk-Herndon every weekend.

Mine will hit mid-26 at steady cruise, but 24ish is the mixed.

^ I noticed 24mpg numbers in the 55mph range, but it increases significantly when cruising 65-68. On this tank my in dash is displaying 26.1. I'll probably fill up tonight, I am actually eager to see what the calculated MPG is. It seems like this warm spell has helped a little too.

They don't seem to think it's worth it. I sent them a detailed email and here's the reply I got:

"We're taking our cue from Subaru here. Take a look at Subaru's own

list of vehicles:

http://www.subaru.com/vehicles/index.html

They list: Impreza, Impreza WRX, Legacy, Outback, Forester, Tribeca.

On their own vehicle page they don't feel the GT warrants its own top

level, but the Impreza WRX does. We'd like to stick with top-level

models if at all possible. It's not always easy and we do make

mistakes, but I do think we've made the right call with this one."

^ Yet on Fuelly's OWN model listings they have GL & GL-10 listed as well as Legacy Outback and Outback seperately.....

I understand their logic, but they need to be consistent. Also in prior years, the WRX was a trim, recently they made it a seperate model. Just as the Outback was originally a Legacy trim, then it became it's own model. What happens if someone wants to add a 1985 Cavalier Z-24? What would they use as a reference to determine if it was a seperate model or a trim level??

Oh well, obviously that site is run by statisticians that have an interest in cars. Not enthusiasts that are interested in statistics.

Nonetheless, it is still a useful, simple site to track. Us enthusiasts can piggyback from them with threads like this to compare numbers
