Yea, if it fits an 05-09 LGT, it should fit 06-09 2.5i. Again, be aware you that will lose low-end power. Also, eBay stuff is known to rust pretty quickly. You get what you pay for.

Yea, the low-rev range you mainly use for daily driving. If I were you, Id get a set of decent universal mufflers e.g. Magnaflow or Vibrant Performance and then to go a reputable exhaust shop to make a custom axle-back. You might pay a bit more, but you won't lose power, get the sound you want, and they won't rust.

Just something to think about ;-)

I personally like the 14829.

For a classier look, I like the Vibrant Performance 1034:

Bringing this thread back. How much will just a centerpipe change the exhaust note? I'm not looking for the header sound, just want to know what it would sound like with an AVO centerpipe and stock cans (let's say.)

The axlebacks seem to be loud and droney from inside in the videos I've seen on YouTube, but that could be because the guy has an auto. I really just want something a little more aggressive and deeper, but not raspy.

Unfortunately, 2010+ 2.5i don't have the dual exhaust setup like the LGT, so options will be very limited. If you don't want to spend $800+ for a JDM piece, I'd suggest buying a universal Vibrant Performance or Magnaflow muffler and take it to an exhaust shop to weld it up.

I don't mind spending 1k, I believe I can do dual exhaust since the back piece from the bumper comes off leaving the second opening for dual exhaust

Yah any axle back exhaust from a 08+ Impreza. Perrin and Megan are a couple brands. Or you can use the lgt exhaust and have the hangers welded to the car for the passenger side can.

This is my 2007 2.5i with an OEM GT manifold fabbed to fit and Vibrant 1034 mufflers. I used this thread for instructions: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/pics-lgt-manifold-conversion-157280.html

Why did I choose the GT manifold? OEM quality (no leaking as w/Borlas) and I prefer the sound over the Rallisport header... which sounds too much like a chopper to me. It even ended up costing me slightly less in the end. The above thread is pretty self-explanatory for anyone who's contemplating going that route, so you'll have a good idea of what's involved. Also thanks to GEE-OTTO!

Things I'd change? These Vibrants are straight-through mufflers, so sometimes they can be louder than I'd personally like, (like during cold-starts) but given other exhaust videos I've seen, most people probably wouldn't consider it very loud at all. With the relocation of the O2 sensor (see thread) I get an intermittent check engine light when I go on long drives that usually goes off within 48 hours. An O2 spacer might help?

The stock 2.5i manifold has a cat in it, so with the GT manifold I have one less cat. The cat on the midpipe and the rearmost cat before the Y-pipe are still in.

Have no need for an aftermarket resonator, everything but the manifold and mufflers is stock.

Hmm, after hearing those clips, I do agree that using an OEM manifold from a turbo Subaru sounds better (has more rumble) than the RalliSport. Makes me want to get mine installed soon; I've got an OEM LGT manifold that's been sitting in my closet for the last 2.5 years  Gotta get the timing belt and head gasket done first, that'll hurt the wallet.

I did create a separate thread on the topic (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/anyone-running-borlas-56410ag06e-engine-coveri-209685.html) but with zero replies, thought perhaps I should ask here, as this thread is tracked/read by most folks who have modified their 2.5i exhausts...

Does anyone here have the 56410AG06E engine cover (LGT undertray) on their N/A legacy with borla headers? Does it clear?
