coachrigdon
I have a 2002 subaru legacy GT. I just installed a remote starter and now the airbag light stays on. Would the remote starter cause it? Also the battery is kind of weak and the clock and odometer have reset themselves several times lately. Any help on what it might be and an easy fix would be appreciated.
Boulderguy
Only reason the remote starter would impact it is if you tapped into a wrong wire somewhere. I'd disconnect the brain & see if it fixed itself. Here's a DIY on a 2005 if it helps.
fibuz
I don't think you have side airbags in 2002, do you? If so, might wanna try wiggling the underseat harness. Sometimes they're flakey. Otherwise it's gotta be some sort of wiring issue.
13fido13
Try disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes. If you had a connector at the clockspring on the steering wheel unplugged when starting it could have caused the light to be thrown. Make sure everything is plugged back in, disconnect batteries, connect again and see if the light is on when the car is started. I had the same problem on the last 08 corolla when I installed it. Never had the problem when I did my old 01 though.
