lgtvf52
hey guys/girls I am nearing the end of my motor build and I have Deatschwerks 650cc sidefeed injectors but the car was not tuned for them yet, so my question is that is it possible to figure out the injector scale, latency and Tip-in correctly before the car is all done? I want to run the COBB OTS stage 2 map for the break in miles (1000-1500) but I know I'm going to have to adjust for the injectors. So again question is how can I adjust the injector scale and latency and tip-in using COBB's AccessTuner race software? Any help would be appreciated. rhino6303
I would call contact COBB and ask them. Here are some useful things I found while searching: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=25868602&postcount=2 http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&ved=0CEkQFjAD&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.accessecu.com%2Faccessport%2Fsubaru%2FAccessTUNER%2520Calibration%2520%26%2520Tuning%2520Guide%2520Worksheet%2520for%2520Subarus.xls&ei=tPzGUq2kCsz8oASam4HQAg&usg=AFQjCNGDtasuYHTpOreP12U81ZZsGOQw4w The second link is to an excel file that is a COBB spreadsheet for their accessports. Injector data is in the injector and spark plug database tab.
lgtvf52
I think that second cobb chart might have been exactly what I was looking for even though they don't have DW 650cc sidefeeds for Lgt's but I am going to call Deatschwerks and see if there is any difference in any of that info because they are sidefeed instead of topfeed but I don't think there will be if anyone else knows anymore about doing this please feel free to chime in
GTTuner
Nope. In fact I recommend you scale your MAF before you install your injectors (it's impossible to do both together accurately) then install the injectors. You should use a wide band for accurate tuning of your MAF and for your injectors. The latency value included with your injectors is probably not going to work, it's a starting point but I've never just popped DW's value in there and it work fine. My latency @ 14 volts was 1.2, stock was .68, I ended up at .84ms. Leave your tip in alone until you have the latency and WOT AFR's dialed in. You may not need to touch the tip in. Keep in mind I use OS for tuning not Cobb.
lgtvf52
Unfortunately I do not have stock injectors only the 650cc so im not quite sure what to do about the MAF. Any suggestions?
GTTuner
Adjust latency with the stock air box in place with stock scaling and a stock panel filter.
lgtvf52
I actually decided to change my plans and look for someone who wants these 650cc injectors and ill swap for stock injectors. For the break in miles ill use stocks then later on go to bigger injectors! Thanks for the help if you know anyone who wants to trade send them my way! GTTuner
650's are kind of incremental, go with at least 750's. Not a bad idea tho......break it in before you start tuning. If you had OS I'd offer to help you with a base map.
