Timing off????

Here's a couple pics of my cam gears. One side is right on. The other is off. The upper cam appears to be right on. The lower is off. Does it look like one tooth off to you?

If I line the mark up here^ then the two below will be off. No mater what I do, one side is off.

Yeah, the half tooth syndrome can be a PITA. Pretty common, use the painted lines on the belt and you can't go wrong. Almost every one I do is like this. If it is a used belt, find the painted lines and repaint over them. FWIW, the "Subaru" marking should be read left to right (from the front of the vehicle) as reading a book when you install the belt.

Mine looks the same. I tried a million time to get it on and it wont work. When I took my old one off it was this way and it ran good, put the new one on the same way and it is still fine, well kinda lol

I just had my water pump replaced about 2 weeks ago. It's leaking again. I haven't removed the belt yet. This is just what I found when I pulled the covers off. The car does run good like this. It sucks that it won't line up! Lol the belt has about 20k on it.

yeah, looks like a half tooth at most, perhaps to account for a bit of belt stretch?

Well it's back together. Runs the same and marks are the same.
