Stupid Question

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone knew as to why every subaru ive ever owned has the outside temperature flash when it hits 37 degrees?? Like why 37? I could understand 32 because of freezing but 37 makes no sense to me and its done it on every subaru ive had with a digital temp

kinda pointless question but im just curious

I wondered the same thing it always beeps at me at 37 degrees I thought I set something wrong glad it wasnt me

same reason why the clock on my NAV reads 12 hour time and on the speedo reads 24 hour :spin::spin:

I was 0.

And I'm still a zero.

Mine does not do this and niether does my wife's tribecca. Maybe because we both have Navi? I dunno.

Doubtful... I have an 08 Spec B (with Navi) and it beeps at me.

Glad I know the logic behind it now though. Thanks for asking the question OP!

I wonder if there is an option to disable it buried somewhere in the navi menu.

I am sure mine has never beeped in the 6 years I have owned it. My wife's 2009 FXT with navi beeped, but the the 1st 2006 and 2nd 2011 Tribecca with Navi did not.

My subie and my CTSV both do it at 37.

@julio you would need to actually drive your car out of the garage to see this happen! Haaaaaaaaaa!

My 08 3.0R and my wife's 07 Chevy Equinox both warn us at 37 degrees, but I've noticed that mine will only beep if the temperature hits 37 while I'm driving, not if its already that cold or colder when I start the car. The Equinox will pop up a warning on the info display when she turns it on if the temperature is 37 or lower. I guess Subaru assumes we always check the weather before we get in the car, lol.
