Weekend Shooter
I made a mistake. I ordered for my 2010 Legacy GT ATE SL brake fluid instead of the Typ 200 which they say is for newer cars. It's a pain to return. Any thoughts on this if I should go thru the pain of returning it? Aside from the slightly lower boiling point (which for me won't matter since I don't drive hard at all), it says to replace yearly which is fine as well. I wrote Tech Support but no answers yet. minuccims
It's a DOT4 fluid so it is not harmful
AZP Installs
As long as it isnt DOT 5 (silicone based) you are fine, especially if you dont track your car. Bi-yearly is the recommended flush interval from Subaru. -mike http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/91072632.jpghttp://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/141039922.jpg http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/133406601.jpg http://upload.pbase.com/image/137566671.jpg 11+ Years Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Subaru Enthusiasts. Weekend Shooter
Thanks guys for the feedback. On a similar note, does the SL 6 (thinner, less viscous) really make any difference? would this now be the new standard?
AZP Installs
We still use the ATE Blue for all our customers. -mike
