John494
Where can I get a stereo dash kit for an 03 legacy gt? I can't find one anywhere:spin:
Heedz
Look on crutchfield assuming you have a 3rdgen unless you're foreign.
stevenva
http://www.metraonline.com/vfg It's pretty much just a pocket. The kit wont be needed if you have an existing pocket with a single din radio. Your car does not have a "typical" kit made for the dash. You will be mounting the new radio "ISO" mount. http://www.installdr.com/TechDocs/999015.pdf All aftermarket radios come pre-drilled and screws supplied to be ISO mounted. If your factory radio was a double din, (or a stacked radio/cd) then you would need the kit. If your new radio is double din, then no kit is needed. Regardless of which way you go, You must use the factory radios side mounting brackets and transfer them to the new setup. John494
That would all be wonderful if I didn't have the 6 disk changer model which is a double din already (and has a pocket under it), and I am getting a single din replacement
stevenva
OK. I searched and found out a photo of your stock setup. If you already purchaced your single din radio then you will have to get the pocket kit and have 2 pockets below. http://www.metraonline.com/part/Mitsubishi_Subaru_Dash_kit_98-8999 I would urge you to get a double din radio if you haven't got your new radio yet, It'll just look better. You can get good deals on new, mainstream models from http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i62_double-din-car-stereos.html I have used them before and was happy with their service. Next, I searched and found (for you) how to R&R your radio. Search link is at the top right of this forum. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/help-replacing-stereo-02-legacy-wagon-65115.html PS. I didn't appreciate your sarcastic response when I was trying to help you. Everything I said before is true for your car model. John494
Ok Thanks. And p.s that wasn't sarcasm directed at you, that was desperation after searching for three hours to find one with no luck. Everything I've tried to change about my car I've had to either make what I wanted from scratch or ghetto rig into the existing stuff and I was expecting to have this be a simple thing, but it's not unless I want to spend more.
