Entrepit
I am real close to owning an 08 2.5i, and want to know what the most cost efficient upgrade to the car are (first guess being the factory intake.) On my 4runner it was the silencer mod and deck plate mod: http://www.yotatech.com/f130/intake-silencer-removal-mod-3rd-gen-4runner-2000-a-75168/ ; On my Chevy it was just leaving its lid off and putting a high flow filter in, exposed to the bay. I am hoping that there is comparable options for the legacy? This car is a blast to drive, but the 2.5i seems like it needs to be "unlocked" before it shows its colors? KEY: cost efficient and responsible performance upgrades! What should I be looking up? What are this cars "bottlenecks"?
iNVAR
Look here: http://legacygt.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/naturally-aspirated-powertrains-2-5i-3-0r-3-6r-11.html No, don't get an intake. And see here: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/type-gains-would-naturally-aspirated-motor-seei-218690.html Don't make the mistake of buying a 2.5i and expecting performance from it. It's not a 2.5GT. If you want a fast car, start out with one that's meant to be modified and has the groundwork in place for it. Welcome to the forum. This is a real late reply, but on the NA subies there isn't a lot of headroom to move them forward in terms of power without spending a lot of $ doing it and most likely going FI on them. Intake, exhaust, even headers will net you maybe 3-4hp and give you better throttle response but that's about it. You are better off focusing on suspension mods and brakes to make them faster through handling. -Mike Paisan http://www.pbase.com/paisan/image/153798190.jpg Maintaining, Modifying and Educating TriState Enthusiasts since 2001.
