I'm pretty satisfied with how its coming out, after 115k miles and 8 years its got some road rash and some scratches to it, but I'll be damned if theres a swirl left. Some of the progress with the paint. My wife and kids were out of town for the week so I spent every evening all week polishing my car. Not a mark on it by the time I was done. I've been playing around with different compounds (M105, Scholls S3, CarPro Fixer, D300, Menz Power Gloss) and they all work well with it. The ones with longer working times tend to finish down nicer, but with all a single polishing step afterwards tends to clean it all up nicely. I've heard that Menz FG4000 is a great compound to use with these pads, but I haven't tried it yet. '03 Forester X 5mt - Engine Seized at 262k miles. Con.Harr91 Posted January 31, 2013 Author Share Posted January 31, 2013 I've been working on a few other projects lately, so the paint still needs more work on the rest of the car. I did manage to make the winter wheels a bit more presentable. When I bought it I noticed some staining on the wheels, mostly the rears. After cleaning with all purpose cleaner, degreaser, and IronX they still looked the same. A little dab of Meguiars #105 on a microfiber, some light rubbing, and they look 10 times better.
