Heticor
According to the Owner’s manual , the amount of oil required for a 2.5 GT is 4 Liters, however if I put that amount the stick indicator does not show a full level rather than a low level, to get the level to the full mark I have to use 4.5 liter. Additionally the oil measure stick does not show the level even on the two sides, one side shows a full level meanwhile the other shows some way between the low and the full mark. This measure stick is not very easy to read. I wonder what the correct amount of oil?
DonnyJagaru
This sounds like a Mazda 2.5. I personally would top it off with the extra 500ml and average the two sides. Generally speaking if you measure the oil in a cold engine on level ground it'll be accurate. Except if its a Mazda 2.
bluesuby
I've always used 2.5 quarts, which is probably close to 4 litres. I have looked at the higher dipstick reading and judging from what comes out at oil change time, I'd say that's more correct than the low reading. Heticor
2.5 quarts = 2.36 litter, 4.2 quart = 4 litters. if you are only using 2.5 quarts your car is starving for oil.
DonnyJagaru
Its possible to over-think all this I reckon. Amazing that not all modern cars have an oil level check built-in. Perhaps the newer Subies do, but my '08 doesn't. Subaru seems to be somewhat trailing-edge when it comes to certain things found in other mainstream vehicles. Heticor
well ,I use 4.76 quart or 4.5 liters.. the information on the owner manual appears to be not correct.
