Dead Spot in throttle

My '07 Spec B throttle does not respond the first 1/4" its pushed. It makes the car very hard to drive smoothly. I just came back from a 2 week trip in Europe, drove a 6spd Mini while there, and really notice this dead spot more than ever now on my car.

I have verified this with Romraider logger, no change in voltage or throttle angle % seen by ECU during the first 1/4" of travel. I looked at the internals, no adjustment, as it's a hall effect sensor.

Is this typical for all of these cars? If so does the STi pedal respond any better? If it does, anyone know if it is a bolt on?

Thanks,

Todd

It's not the pedal, it could be the TB

Have it checked out by a repair shop. I think your the first guy to post this problem.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

  • 4 weeks later...

Since you have a specB where is your knob set to in terms of s s# etc?

I know that has an effect on the throttle response.
