scoobydoo73
So i was driving home today, half the drive everything is ok, i pull in for some fast food on the way home and notice in the drive through that my oil light had come on. It would go out at anything above 1k rpm's. The oil was almost at the full line when checked. I added a little from there and the oil light is still coming on at just a little under 1k now. I'm hoping the oil pump is not going out or the bearings are going. I am going to throw a sensor on tomorrow as they are only 7 dollars at the store. I may also do an oil change, i was told it was done right before i bought it, but may do it to be on the safe side.
Balrock
At least you had oil in the car. When I see threads like this it is usually "my oil light came on and my engine is toast what shouldI do." You are one of the fortunate ones, my friend. scoobydoo73
Has anyone teed the sensor location or found another location for putting in an oil pressure gauge. I am going to pick up a cheap sunpro so i can see what the pressure really is as well.
scoobydoo73
I got to take a look at the sensor yesterday, there was oil bubbling out through the top by the electrical connection. Replaced and so far oil light is staying away.
ehsnils
OK, then you are probably OK and it wasn't another oil pickup tube or something more serious.
