SSpeed
Have a question in to cryo too, but thought I'd ask here. I changed out my injectors to DW8xx, measured out to 920. I then loaded up the limp map. I'm trying to figure out if I have an injector problem or if just the limp map is that way. I only let it run for about a minute, but it seems like a shaky miss to me. Or are the limp maps just that unsmooth? I did pull the connector on the front driver side injector and that one is definitely working. I guess I could attempt to pull each one and see. I don't have an CELs.
SSpeed
Correction, I'm getting a: P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire detected Awesome that cylinder 3 is the one you have to take the dang coolant tank off for...
SSpeed
****, one of the injectors is bad. I swapped positions and moved the misifiring injector to the easy to reach #2 position. Fired up the car, shaking idle, pulled the #2 connector and no change. I sent these injectors back to DW for cleaning and testing and they all tested fine. How can that one be dead? SSpeed
Update: On a whim I started the car, then put a 1/2" socket extension on top of the injector and tapped it a couple times with a hammer, it magically started working. I don't know what I think about that. They did sit for almost 5 months since being tested...
SSpeed
Hmm, if I weren't on a limp map for tuning on Friday I'd run some Berryman's B12 through a tank, but don't want to have that in there for a tune. But also not sure I want to tune on an injector that I had to unstick?
fahr_side
I'd get them cleaned and checked again. I quite like the DW850 top-feeds. Pretty easy to dial in. SSpeed
These are DW850 side-feeds. It makes me awful nervous now. I wish I'd checked continuity before tapping it so I could see if it was electrical or a sticking problem.
fahr_side
Convert to top-feed? SSpeed
That's always an option, the $1000 entry fee is a little painful though.
fahr_side
Cheap compared to popping a motor though... ragman
Scott, you got tuned last week, what was the outcome on this injector?
SSpeed
So far the injector is fine. After talking with DW they were confident it was stuck from sitting so long, so I went with that. I have 145k on the motor now, I don't want it to pop obviously, but if it does it's had a good life.
