#1: FREE BEER. Yes no kidding. See below for more details.

Hey guys, I've got a good spot for a meet up scoped out. The Strand Brewing in Torrance, CA http://www.strandbrewing.com/ . They've got a great parking set up, and the brewery manager is a Subie guy, '13 WRX with a Phatbotti E40 tune (aka half E85 tune). He says the first beer (each) is on him. See?! Free beer!

Let's do this quick, and easy; I'm picking a date, and let's see how that goes:

May 28th, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

Start time 3pm.

End time 9pm = closing.

Saturday's they are open 12-9pm. Different food trucks are scheduled, and when they post the truck for that day I'll update.

They will reserve the back side parking lot just for us:

(this is an old pic before they took the space over, because the rectangle space in the red box is typically empty except for a few employee cars and the food truck. )

I'll PM some of the locals I know of on the board to make sure they see this thread, and please feel free to hit up any members local-ish that you can think of.

If that weekend is already booked up for too many, we can talk about 1 week before or after, in this thread. Sticking with the 28th.

Food "truck" is scheduled to be the Barley Hops Grill. http://www.yelp.com/biz/barley-hops-grill-torrance

Oh sweet!!! Been meaning to hit you up about this. Jonny Walker with the dark blue bp gt wagon is heading out on duty for a the next 2-3 years and he is having a going away party. He was thinking of having something at the hoonigan facilities on June 11th which is a saturday. Then after, everyone would do a cruise to the strand brewery. You think the owners would be down to have something then? I'm down for memorial weekend too haha!

2-3 years! dang that is worth of a big thing! I'm sure they'd love to be part of an event like that. There was a group of 10-12 vets meeting up there, the last time I was there. Rick is the owner, Jonas is the brewer (wrx). Both cool doods, and either can set it up. We have a family event earlier that day, but we'd swing by after. Any excuse is good, and this one sounds good!

I'd see if my buddy with a '14 WRX would want to join.

I technically get off at 6 but I almost always end up staying until 7 on Saturdays. So, we'll see. If you guys are all still there I can definitely swing by.

I'll stay until the last guy leaves, or I get kicked out. So come on thru. Make an excuse to leave an hour or two early... "I'm picking up my mom from the airport" or similar song and dance...

Ha, if only. Not that kind of job unfortunately. I will see if I can arrange something though. If I have a "doctor's appointment" then I could probably get out at 5.

Food "truck" is the Barley Hops Grill, which isn't actually a truck! It's like a flat bed trailer with a couple doods grilling and some girls running the tickets. What they lack in "truckage" they make up for in flavor.

Thanks rebourne. If I were still in San Diego, I'd make the trip for this meet. Sounds like fun. Reminds me of when we used to meet at the Duck's practice facility in Anaheim and play broomball. Subie guys and gals came from all around.
