roundthirteen
I was driving home on the expressway and noticed when the car is in 6th and I give it some extra gas the RPMs jump but not in proportion to the speed of the car, and this could have been in my head but I thought I smelled the burning clutch smell. I would guess the clutch is getting bad but are there any other possible causes? The clutch has 73,000 on it. In normal driving conditions I don't notice anything odd so I figured this could be an early sign? Thanks My car's not a sleeper it's a hibernator. http://pure-tuning.com
joe sko
That is the first sign. Baby it until you can fix it.
nugs
Yep, exactly how it started in my wrx. It didn't take too long until acceleration on the highway was non-existent, so even if you baby it, plan to get it fixed sooner rather than later & get stranded somewhere. Yeah it wasn't long after my first post and it was slipping in lower gears. I got it changed though, since I'm stage 2 I just threw in an OEM clutch. If I put more power to it I'll step up the clutch later. That clutch change video is a lifesaver.
