nahtanoj1
So I have an 07 2.5i 5mt Outback and there is little noise in the dash at 3000rpm, kind of sounds like it used to sound when your speedo cable was going on older cars. It's most noticeable by the driver because it's coming from the drivers side dash somewhere. Anyone else heard this or have an ideas what its about? subarupartsdude
^ i have heard of this before. We usually take a piece of paper and fold it up a couple times then stick it on top of the dash where the vin plate is.Use a ruler or paint stick and push it in there where you think the noise is. Hope this helps you.
starhm
I had one at the dash. Mine was where the a pillar cover met the dash board. I just pushed down on the dash board at the edge next to the pillar one day and it stopped while I had pressure on it. There are two tabs in the end of the pillar cover that fit into slots in the edge of the dash board. The tabs were vibrating in the slots...ended up pulling the cover and using rtv on the tabs to stop the vibrating. Good luck finding yours...it took a while.
