scottyg7171
you should make the guy who sold them to you buy them back I would but it was an impulse buy at a local swap meet and I didn't get his info. I'm the one who should have inspected them, but ya, it would have been nice if he had pointed that out. I definitely wouldn't sell them if they weren't structurally sound, but from my research they're okay. AHHHHH... I don't know what to do!!
Fossil2k2
The best you can do is sell them to someone with a HUGE caveat. Your ad should read something like this: For sale is a set of BBS wheels. Original bolt spacing was 5x114, the owner previous to me took it upon himself to drill a 5x100 bolt pattern in the wheels. I asked the opinion of the following professionals: X w/ XX experience, Y w/ YY experience, and Z with ZZ experience. They all came to the conclusion that the wheels should be structurally sound. I'm selling these wheels AS IS. I do not guarantee their integrity. On a side note, if you can't get rid of them, I might give you a couple dollars more than the scrap value to make a cool coffee table or something. BAC5.2
I really don't think those are sufficiently structurally sound. You got hosed when you bought them, for sure. Shame, because they look fantastic on your car. They would probably be OK to run on a 5x114 car, but on a 5x100 car, I wouldn't even consider them. I wouldn't even think about selling them to someone needing 5x100. But I think 5x114 is fine.

mattg
Thanks. I just had these coated. I would call them more of a satin black. More durable and less prone to water spots and marking than flat black. http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/legacygt/large/IMG_0520.JPG http://photos.imageevent.com/mattg/legacygt/large/IMG_0523.JPG

mattg
I removed the center caps, valve stems and wheel weights and dropped them off at the powdercoater. They media blast all the old paint off the wheels, spray on the powder then bake the wheels until the finish is ready. I paid $170 for coating this set. mattg
So they're only 10 times stronger than a 5:AD wheel now. I'll be careful.
