So after i drove around with the windows down freezing, almost got pulled over, and wasted all my gas. I came home to post this thread on how the 05 Impreza RS intake FIT on my legacy.:)

It was def worth it to get the awsome sound of the cold air intake. I am gonna put up sound clips when i get them edited but i just wanted to update you guys.

The intake fits almost perfectly. As a short Ram intake its fine, when you make it into a cold air intake you gotta fit the intake tube into the cupler on an angle and tighten it down. Also im gonna get and recomend getting one of the water guards that wrap around the filter. The filter sits in the intake compartment ,as seen in the pic, has holes and water can easly get to the filter. I purchase the intake here :http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-23454.cfm.

More pics and Info later on, i gotta head out.

gen 4 specific intake.

not cold air into the bumper, but where the current air box is

or

it's what i'm personally leaning to, then building a heatshield and reusing the air scoop.

Thanks again every one, im happy it worked other wise i would have had a $255.00 intake that i couldnt return.

So ive put about 98 miles on the intake and so far no cel or any other types of engine problems. Not realy expecting any since this intake was designed for the 2.5I motor. Also got the sound clip up and running : http://videos.streetfire.net/video/23863d0b-b54d-463a-9b43-99080157cd7d.htm

It goes from, short ram intake shown first to the cold air intake. The middle part were i have the camera over looking the car is when my little bro was reving the engine. Moron reved it so high the limiter kicked in. Hope it gives you a better idea of the sound your gonna get. In terms of HP i beleive the manual said an average of 16HP is gained from the intake. I dont think its that high but you def can tell that there is a sinificant increase. Now that i have the intake done(and as long as no problems pop up) i think its time to move onto exhaust work!

Feel free to ask any questions about the install, PM me and i'll send you all the pics of the setup.

Hey JayMitch2.5i, what is the part number for the filter? There are 3 different sizes for the Injen Hydro Shield and just wanted to see which one would need to be ordered.

Because of you, I am seriously thinking about ordering this thing right now! :spin:

Edit: Found it to be 1020DT but if you can confirm that would be great! Thanks!
