Update 06.07.19

It's been busy but the car arrived safe and sound a week ago. Got my Hawaii plates on right away and was finally able to put on jdm rain visors yay! Still puttering along during my rebuild break in, which is perfect with the local style driving speeds :)

Update 01.19.16

I've been slacking on keeping this updated. Just got my car back from Mert @ RBMS Auto Care in Hayward. I highly, highly recommend him and his shop if you ever need work done in the Bay Area.

Car was dropped off at the port yesterday to be shipped to Oahu.

*While the car was getting worked on, I went ahead and added some fun bits.

The Start

I just posted over on subaruoutback but thought I'd post here as well. I'm new to forum and thought I'd start a photo journal of sorts for my recent purchase.

Purchased 04.12.13 in Colorado. I'm actually living in Hawaii right now but we're planning to move to SF around the end of summer. Flew out to LAX to meet my dad who wanted to come along for the adventure then connected out to Denver. Picked up the car and made the 1,100 mile trek back to Long Beach. Got to briefly enjoy over the weekend and snapped a few photos the morning of my flight home. I love this color!

Not a stranger to Subaru, miss this car!

Don't have an major plans with mods, perhaps a new wheel set if anything first. We'll see where this OBXT takes me ;)

Thanks everyone! I'm just now finding out that this color and trim level is somewhat rare! A nice perk and glad I made the trek out to get it.

welcome to the forum! are you originally from So Cal? Must be nice living in Hawaii.

I'm originally from Hawaii, but grew up in So Cal. Can't really complain I guess haha.

nice.. i have the same color, but two tone.. best subaru color ever

Saw your ride in couple threads, I dig it and the two tone! I've been contemplating the wheel set up you have as an option on a set of wheels. What are the wheel specs on the xxr 530s you have? I was looking at 18x8.75 +33 and I'm wondering if I'd have any issues running them on stock height. Thinking about a 255/45 or 245/45 tire.

I saw a Legacy sedan version of that color the other day, and it blew my mind. I had no idea I'd like brown that much! (I'm usually a black car kind of guy.)

Welcome to the board!

BTW, what event were you participating in with the E30? Was that some kind of rallycross?

im no longer running those wheels, but im thinking abou tgetting something in a similar finish.. i had 18x8.75 et35 with 235/40's and the only complaint i had, was wheel gap from stock height

Yup rallycross, super fun. The e30 went from a beat up daily driver/surf mobile to a somewhat dedicated rallycross car.

At first I was bummed that I couldn't get black interior, but it the ivory grew on me.

Thanks for the details shirekid2.5i! Thinking of set of matte black, but no doubt bronze would look good!

Excellent pickup on the Outback and nice E30! You should check out the rallyx's here in Norcal, we could always use more competitors.

Thanks gravelracer! I miss participating in rallyx here (sold the E30). They're having a one-off event at Kualoa Ranch in May that I'm trying to get a co-drive for. I'd love to get back into rallyx, I'll definitely look into it as soon as move over to SF!

  • 10 months later...

It's been a while since I've posted. Moved from Hawaii to SF last September and did two and half months of backpacking Asia and Europe in between the move.

Thanksgiving weekend plastidipped my wheels. My stock struts were ready for retirement. Did countless hours of reading and research, debated back and forth on spring/shock combos and coilovers. Ended up with coilovers, KW V2. Love them!

Would be nice to have another OBXT there

Hey OB2! I've been following the thread. Would love to get a track day in, but not in the budget just yet. But it think I'll come out for the meet. Thanks for the heads up!
