Hitch for 2013 Legacy

I need to put a trailer hitch on the legacy to pull some waverunners. I know it has enough power with no issues but I want a hitch that's not crazy visable....I found this company called hidden hitch but I am still looking for some help.

Another option is EcoHitch. No need to drill, it bolts up. Looks like the Legacy fitment is fairly new from this company.

I think I want one of those - Ecohitch's.... the design (and fact that it doesn't protrude any more than it does) looks great.

 

I checked the website, but couldn't find anything on required time to install. Any idea what the estimated installation time is?

Probably less than the ones that you have to drill to install. I would guess, if you are a capable mechanic and had an extra set of hands around to help you with the bumper removal/install, probably 2-3 hours.

The Curt hitch took about 2 hr to install and it helps to have a 2nd person to help lift it in place to get the bolts threaded.

Installed my EcoHitch today. It weighs 43 pounds and did have brackets that run along the frame rails. Install went well and was pretty easy. Also used a Curt wiring harness that was plug and play for my Legacy....super easy.

If money doesn't matter the ecohitch for sure, install time should be similar with both hitches it's mostly about how much of a hurry you are in to install it. 2 hours is doable if you are prepared.

 

 

For future reference to others looking at the hidden or curt hitch there is a model that bolts right in if you remove the rear bumper I however didn't get that one, unbeknownst to me, lol.

 

Curt 112982 will only align with the hole closest to the bumper supports. The other hole must be drilled out.

Are you guys wiring your own lights or using the T connector module?

I used the Curt plug and play module. I think the part number is in my build thread.

Curt as well here although I haven't hooked it up.
