LOWEST
So I don't like auto, but I found a good local deal on a 5EAT Leg. If I was going to go through all the trouble of a swap, then I might as well put in a 6-speed and I need it to be strong enough to hold 400 whp. From another thread: I$ po New trans, ECU, 1/2 shafts, drive shafts, cross members, downpipe, odds and ends. My bet is $10k 10K is nearly how much I plan to pay for a LGT limited! Is it really that expensive? I would do all of the labor myself. Would it be best to just buy a used oem sti tranny? I know I can get a decent deal on one. kevkel33leg05
yes it is expensive. Heres a link for the whole package for a swap on a wrx to the 6 speed with a used trans. They still want $7000. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/speed-transmission-full-subaru-sti-6-p-7113.html?osCsid=m5lkfbro4jhc8nf0krkf791a64 Prob be cheaper to buy a 5mt and bulid that one up. goneskiian
Or you could by a Spec B since it's already got a 6 speed.
MOMSWGN
Better to buy a 6 speed. I like 5mt more.
camber
There is a place in Canada that does it for cheaper. I posted it, in another ^MT thread it was $4-6k CDN they were quoting but I believe the tranny wasn't new.
camber
It was Planet Motorsports(http://www.planetmotorsport.com/) that was doing the swap for $3500 last spring and $5k with brembos.
Chris Godawski
Its probably only worth it if you blow a tranny/clutch and have to tear everything apart anyways
