I'm thinking about signing up for the autoX school. I would be bringing my XT6 but it'll hopefully do just fine. I've never done any autoxing though, any tips?

I also just did a Dirtfish half day course. Holy smokes that was awesome!

So excited to finally meet some people/LGT owners around my age... Well with similar intentions for their car. Weather finally cleared up hopefully I can get re-washed, clay bared, and waxed before Sunday...

We will be sure to get an all LGT photo. Gonna be a nice turnout.

If you liked Dirtfish, you'd probably like autocross... rallycross... track... everything.

As for tips? make sure your car doesn't leak, the battery is tied down, tires are good and all matching, and it will do fine. Before upgrading your car, learn how to drive it well.

I didn't know Evergreen had a drag strip. Now I'm intrigued.

Is it a full quarter-mile? Or is it just an eighth-mile track?

Saturday at bremerton (day before WCSS), Porsche is holding their Driver Skills day. Come volunteer for the day, then run the extended autox course until ?? (3:30 til whenever). Your car, as is, will be fine. I've done the course in my pickup truck (3 wheel cornering).

From flyer:

Our next event is imminent - next Saturday, 7/27. I need YOUR help to make it a success! This is our first large-format summer event, so I need a big group of volunteers. Come pay it forward!

Registration link for July 27: http://msreg.us/DSJuly2013

Remember, all volunteers get a FREE lunch and as much time on the open afternoon road course as they can handle. Beyond the lunch and free track time, you'll also get the appreciation of all students and instructors. The success of these events is due to the strength of our volunteer and instructor corps - come be part of it!

Volunteers are expected to be at the track by 8:00a and stay until the main segments are complete around 3:30p. After that, volunteers have access to the open road course we set up and can run till we end the event. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us directly at the emails listed below.

Thank you,

Robert Durff - Event Chair (DriverSkills@pnwr.org) http://app.topica.com/images/pixel.gifRegister as a volunteer here.

Great event. Got to instruct in a 458 Italia. And set a personal best on the slalom with the wagon...lost it right at the end drifting into the stopbox sideways.

Porsche Driver Skills this weekend (9/6) at Bremerton - http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/EA538173-AA6F-62B3-BF3BCD7205EE467D - $75 for all day including lunch. 16 spots just opened up.

slalom, wet skidpad, max acceleration to max braking, handling over (go fast, turn fast), autocross, evening road course.

Your car as is on the track. I'll be there in a Prius, so the bar for "sportiness" is pretty low. Bring a friend, bring a GoPro, we'll put you in the same run group.
