MangoGT
I wasn't really sure how to search for this, but "headlight" + "window" didn't pull up anything relevant. I was waiting for a friend a few nights ago and I just pulled up on both front window switches. The lights dimmed (pretty noticeably)! Has anyone else noticed this? MangoGT
Nice. This is my first car so I've never really felt like playing around with someone else's switches.

PhilT
It's just the battery voltage dipping while the window motor is operating, nothing to be concerned about. Double Award Winning Legacy GT Wagon
fweasel
Normal. Assuming the windows were already up, the motors would draw even more current when they coudln't move anything. ignore him, he'll go away.
Windex
Yup, completely normal. If you take a voltmeter to the battery when you pull up on all the window switches, you will see system voltage drop about a volt. With the window motors stalled (all the way up or down) current draw for the motors will be at maximum, and the load will drop the available voltage from the alternator. rony
Diming lights because of using the mirrors??? Is the engine running? I haven't noticed this, but then again, I replaced my battery pretty much in the first month I had the car. My Car vBGarage

Flanders
A lot of people with older cars think this is due to poor grounding in the engine bay. Mine has always done it and it drives me nuts. I have grounding wires that are not installed yet. I hope that it solves the problem.
Xenonk
just about every car i've ever been in does that moved to interior it's just the amps that the headlights and windows (along with 50 billion other things that are running) that are being drawn out from the electrical system.. time for a capacitor and better grounding Keefe
Aczwild
You want something annoying, try my moms '04 X5 with the heated driver and passenger seats, when you have them on the headlights pulsate, ie dim.. fine.. dim.. fine.. dim.. fine.. dim You get the idea JDM'd All to hell Thanks Jimmy @ Hkc-Speed.com! Xenonk
wire up 2 600 watt amps and run 4 12" subs.. play a techno song and watch EVERYTHING go dim... Keefe
Claw
Doesn't have to be techno... when I play any sort of music, play with the window switches, my turn signals go on/off/on/off/on.. well, you get the idea. Weird eh? Who woulda thought of that?

mechdiff
I just tried that tonight with both my fogs and my headlights on and there was no dimming whatsoever. I have my daytimes disabled not sure if that has anything to do with it.
