Strizzy
Yup. That is where I have mine as well (you mean rear view mirror, right?). I'll snap a few shots of where I spliced in for power tomorrow. I found that if you tap into the wrong power source, turning the detector on would open the sunroof. I'd be in for that. I have an Escort that I don't have hardwired.
Rimfaxe
It would be great if someone would make a detector that was integrated as part of the rear view mirror- compass, auto dimming, and detector all in one...

smokedoutv6
i have a k40 hardwired in the lgt. works good for local cops but sh*tty on the highways when i would really need it. it was free though and i installed it myself so i can't complain since it cost me basically nothing. i'll snap some pics tonight. basically the control module is on the fuse door by my right now and the two LED/speaker alerts things are on top of my reaview mirror. the front led is on the left and the rear on the right. i get compliements on how it looks but its really all show and very little go :-p
RedDawg
ive been thinking of doing that also but allowing the detector to be removed. I don't really need it until i head up to NY to visit family. (got caught around binghampton last time)
Strizzy
Here is how I hardwired mine: 1 - Remove maplight lens and the two phillips head screws. 2 - The panel is then easily removed from the headliner. Locate the green wire with a yellow tracer and use that as your +12 source. It is located on the sunroof switch harness. 3 - I used one of the screws that was removed earlier as my ground. 4 - Feed the wire through the headliner down towards the mirror. 5 - Put everything back together and enjoy. 6 - A shot from the back.
