AquartAlex
Bought this 2000 outback about 6 months ago and have finally started making enough money to start having a little fun with it. Haven't done much other than some oversized mud flaps and a rocker panel paint job but I would like to lower it in the next month or so and put a set of nice rims and tires on. http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/16328eb8.jpg http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/98816b16.jpg http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/7ab47d9a.jpg Can get a great deal on these wheels tell me what you guys think
hallowpoint
Rockstars? never seen those on cars but a very poplar wheel for trucks, might look cool...

AquartAlex
After a few hours work and some frustration I finally got the wheels on and they're lookin pretty good http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/62ba10d7.jpg Didnt do my research before buying them and they had the wrong bolt pattern so I had to pay for it by buying a set of adapters. http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/d8e7400a.jpg I got the shortest open ended lugs I could find but they were still to long so I had to lathe them down a bit. http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/2c70a20e.jpg But finally they're on and have a nice stance with the 1inch spacer/adapter http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/a3f87e47.jpg
AquartAlex
Now that they're on all I want to do is drop it down about an inch or so...
99legacyturbo
Hey rims look good and just a suggestion for lowering on my 99 legacy I put 04 sti suspension on it before I got coilovers and it lowered it a good amount prolly 2 inches maybe 1.5" Here's a pic http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh269/shizz2thenat/ab3fb85a.jpg
AquartAlex
I looked into that briefly a few weeks ago but couldn't find a straight answer about what set up would be compatible with the outback. If I went that route I would most likely buy the kit with axles, brakes, rotors, shocks and springs that way I'd be one step closer to putting a WRX or STI drivetrain in. Well that'd be awesome I'm so glad I swapped mine no one expects an older legacy to be fast and about wether they'd fit or not I forgot yours is a 2000 I'm not sure about that I think you have a different suspension than me but if you wanted to try the Sti struts I'd let you try my old ones there only sitting in my garage now
AquartAlex
I think it might have been fronts fit and rears don't or visa versa. But it'd be great if I could just try a set for fit ment, I'm all the way in mass though.
99legacyturbo
Oh true didnt realize how far you were and do seem to remember rears are different
AquartAlex
Thanks though, I'll be looking for the Best way to lower it without losing too much of the ride quality. But first I need to fix the little rust thats on the car and work on saving up money
AquartAlex
Continuing small projects on the subie, I Removed the headliner do to stains that were on the back half from before I got it. When I got about halfway through the project I realized what the stains were from. Somehow a mouse had gotten up into the headliner and was living up there for awhile. There was mouse poop all over the thing, which also explained the odd smell that lingered from time to time. I Cleaned out the whole thing and got every last piece out. I attempted to use the Rust-oleum fabric paint but it didn't do to great of a job. I may have to go the second route of just laying a new headliner over it. but i also painted the front grill to see how that would look before I went to a mesh grill. heres how it looks http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh582/aquart11/a3edace6.jpg

Low n Slow
A little tint would be sick too especially once it's dropped.
AquartAlex
Not much tint is allowed here in mass, but I will get the darkest I can on everything. Also a lowered touch is what I want. I see your lowered outback, what springs did you use? I can't afford a decent set of coilovers at the moment on my college student income.
