Aluminum vs Silicone v Rubber Radiator Hoses?

Recommended Posts

Since im replacing my radiatior Im curious to find out what the different pros and cons of each. do you need a specific setup for each? ex: If oli decide tp go to stage 2 do I need to install aluminum or silicone. lets make this a general forum incase people want to know what to get before they buy it. & possibly save cash that they could use, towards oth er mods.

Who sells them?

It doesn't matter what you use, but I bet the aluminum "hoses" are shit. Cooling system pressure has nothing to do with power production, so all you are doing is buying bling. No such thing as a "high performance coolant hose"

It doesn't matter. They are radiator hoses.

You don't really have any intercooler hoses, just one at the throttle body which is OK to leave alone. You CAN replace it with a silicone hose, but you won't be gaining anything by doing that.

Best reason for silicone rad hoses? Appearance. I have them. IMHO they look much better than rubber radiator hoses which is no good reason in particular to upgrade.

Id much rather see you buy silicone radiator hoses you dont need than a BBK you dont need
