Big Daddy
My 2015 Legacy 2.5i Limited has factory NAV system with removable Micro SD card. What is the best way to update this NAV data card without purchasing a brand new card?

chowser51
You would download it as linked by Opie. But I don't remember a free one for 2015 so if there is one you might have to buy it.
securityguy
You definitely have to pay for it...not free.
leolfds
Holy &$$&&$ that's one expensive map update. Most people now a days have smartphones. I would just invest in a nice phone mount and use Waze or Google Maps. Much more accurate, always up to date, better features and it is free. Apple CarPlay/Android Play should make stock nav. systems onsolete soon.
larrya07
I ended up ordering the new sim card with the updates since the map update program did not recognized the factory sim card that came with the car. Update: the new toolbox program listed above does see my factory sim card. Oh well at least I can use it for next year update.
securityguy
@leolfds...expensive??? What are you looking at...actually very cheap and reasonable based on many other car manufacturers. It's only $54.
leolfds
Where are you seeing $54? Is it for the download option? Only costs I see on the website is for the new SD card, $120.00.
securityguy
You have the option to buy an SD card or download to your existing SD card. Subaru offers a one-time download at $54 and a three year download at $113 https://subaru-na-mapupdate.naviextras.com/shop/portal/home
leolfds
The link Opie posted did not show the price for the download option. That's where I was looking and I did not look further but still expensive IMO when compare to a free, more up-to-date and better gps navigation on my phone. Thanks for the clarification on the download price.
securityguy
I agree free is better but $54 for a NAV update is CHEAP!!! And you can buy 3 updates for about $38 each. Most other manufacturers charge anywhere from $99 - $199 for a single update. I applaud Subaru for keeping their updates reasonable.
