What's an EJ2.5 worth

How much could i get for my 98 2.5? It runs great! New head gaskets about 20,000 ago. With all accesories. Intake to oil pan. I'm pulling the motor soon for an sti swap and will need to get rid of it.

I'd pick it up for $500, but I'm not sure if my folks would let me swap in a new motor for the 4 months that I'm home over the summer :/ are they the upgraded gaskets?

They are fel-pro gaskets. I always had good luck with that brand. The head gasket set from them cost me about 250.00!! Just put a new water pump on it too. I'll post up in the for sale section after I pull it. All the accessories work too. Including the A/C pump. I'll probably ask 400.00 firm with pick up.

Around here (Western Washington) a good running EJ25 goes for around a grand. Props if they can hear it run before you pull it. So I'd say ballpark middle around $800 if it runs and drives and shows minimal signs of wear and blah blah blah.

^But on the westcoast Subaru shit is easily twice as expensive compared to east coast. Idk why this is, but its BS. I'm pretty sure we are CLOSER to Japan, so the prices should be lower. Bastards..

For a grand you get a totally redone japanese imported 2.5 with 30k-50k miles here in Idaho.

Wow western washington is getting fuckd over with those prices... its not too ridiculous here as far as engines go

I sold mine with 92,000 with bad head gaskets for $350.

Wow!! That's really high!! I plan on taking some video with of it running and driving. I have a couple sti's that I'm looking at right now. All are wrecked with salvage titles. Rear end damage. I'm gonna pass on the 09 and 10. Both were under 10,000 miles. Looking to go with an 04 with 68,000. Price is right too! It's cheaper to buy the whole car than an engine swap kit.
